Important information about our new home, landcforum.com

This information was written for those of you who wonder what happened to our old forum (landc.freeforums), and if it can happen again.

The old forum is lost forever, and so are all the posts. :crying: After our old forum was deleted, a group of scammers stole the name. The current landc.freeforums site is a fake intended to trick you. None of the admins you know from the old forum have anything to do with that place anymore.

Regarding our future: We have made sure that this cannot happen again. As you can see, we have our own domain name, and we are no longer hosted by a free site that might delete us without warning. This time, we are able to make regular backups, so no matter what, you will always find the greatest L&C forum in the world at http://landcforum.com/. :thumbup1:

Our forum is currently hosted by Mistress Taylor (http://www.taylormadeclips.com/). She graciously offered to host us for free, so we're all very grateful for that. The site is completely free, but if you want to give Taylor a little help paying our bandwidth bill, just buy one of her clips :)

There's nothing illegal about L&C. :)

What happened with our forum (landc) was that somebody posted copyrighted content in a section that wasn't properly moderated. The copyright holder (or someone pretending to be the copyright holder) complained to freeforums.org, and they just deleted us without warning. There's no mercy when you're using a free forum service.

The entire makeforum.org site is down, not just lifted. It's probably just a technical error (web server may have crashed) - it has happened before. :thumbdown:
