For me, I think it just goes along with finding strong women physically attractive. Lift/carry is a great component of that. I mean, I like watching a muscular woman working out in the gym, lifting weights too -- but lifting other people is so much more personal, playful and interactive. (It's cool watching the surprise or shock on a guy's face when a woman picks him up off the ground and he didn't think she'd be able to do it, or to actually feel the woman struggling under you to climb those last few steps while carrying you on her back up a flight of stairs.)

Not only all that, but it's doable any time, any place. Most people have a good idea how much they weigh, so a woman can just pick them up and know right away, "Cool! I can lift X number of pounds!" without having to go to the gym to find out.
