Default I dunno?

I think what's driving a lot of the increased visibility of lift and carry is the acceptance of it as a legitimate workout/exercise idea.

The number of people who find it sexually arousing to view it are still a small minority of the people in the general public. But those of us who do are simply getting a lot more opportunity to see it taking place because people involved in Crossfit, some of the martial arts and so forth are enjoying doing these lifts both to show off their strength and for the practicality of it. (If you're stuck at home, especially with all the COVID worries right now and many gyms closed? Lifting a partner is a good heavy lift you can do without needing a stack of weights to use.)
