Default How to record from the web?

I was thinking, if I found a clip on youtube that I like, how would I record it so that I can save it and watch it offline?

There are also different sites where you can pay to have webcam sessions (livejasmin is one I think) How would I record a session from those? Is it legal for private use?

Thanks in advance for answers.

I use this one at the moment:
http://www.ant.com/video-downloader/

Also, if you have a new version of realplayer it will
have this feature. This one works better, but I can not
get realplayer to work for me.

To download any Youtube clip in .mp4 format just add "22" after "Youtube" in the address.

ex: http://www.youtube22.com/watch?v=iBsTTtgI88g

To capture cam sessions you'll need screen recording software like Hypercam.

You simply highlight the region of the screen you want captured and it will record it whatever it is. You need a fast .avi codec and fast computer to get good (non choppy) results though

For me it is very easy to download videos or clips from the internet (youtube etc). I use the current version of the real player and the current version of mozilla firefox for browsing. When i go to yotube for examole, I only do the cursor over the playing clip an an smal winow opens DOWNLOAD THE CLIP. I click on this window an the clip begins to download on my computer. Very easy. I hope it helps you and you can understand my bad English.

I use Firefox with the DownloadHelper plugin. It can grab just about anything and even gives you a quick download button right over each video on YouTube. For sites like Xhamster, there's an icon in the browser's toolbar. You click it, select the video (the name will be obvious), then click "Quick Download."

There are other similar plugins for Firefox and also for Google Chrome and it's all free.

It will save the video as a .flv file. You'll need a video player that can play .flv or you'll need a program to convert .flv to a format you can play. Those are also available for free if you search. I use Linux now and the native Linux player plays .flv but when I used Windows, Super was a great, free video converter.

Edit: I forgot... DownloadHelper has a tool built into it to convert video formats. I've never used it because I don't need it. When I was on Windows, the .flv downloader I had back then only downloaded in .flv format so I needed the external program to convert.

I haven't tried any of the tips above in this thread but I will. Thanks!
