technical questions on attachments

Hi. Could anyone please tell me how to post a video as an attachment from my computer on here so when someone clicks it it plays a windows video. It would be a lot easier for me to post videos as it would be even easier for people to view them then a shared file program .
I have seen them posted on here before and I am a big fan of it.

Thanks

You probably have to upload it on some web site. Google "upload videos" or something like that.

Wen you finish, you'll see link that you can just copy here.

Do you have Dropbox? If you do, you just open a Dropbox folder and drag the file into it, then once it's ready you can get a link that anyone can download it through. It's more secure and anonymous to use a 3rd party service like Mediafire or RapidShare but I doubt anything would be compromised using Dropbox anyway.

Thanks Wolf . I already just started using dropbox and it does let anyone see the clip without having to download it. I will stick with that. Thanks

Request for Moderators

I don't know if this is The Place to do it but i have a request for the moderators.
Since mediafire has changed its format and I now use Dropbox for file sharing ,
I was wondering if I could Pleas go back and edit in Dropbox in place of mediafire files (that now make people download videos to see them:( ) . The new format for a thread only allows me to go back two posts or two days to edit a post on my thread. I don't want to create a new thread or make major Changes I just want to substitute dropbox for the Mediafire links I posted so I would need the capability to go back and edit these old posts and have them accessible to me so i could do that. Then there is my request.

thanks
CarryChris

No problem. Thanks for putting in the effort to keep your content alive.

Btw, the reason why we have a time window for editing and deleting old posts is to keep old content alive. :) There has been cases where a member got angry with admins or other members, and decided to delete all his posts for no good reason. The edit/delete time window helps protect our L&C archive.

Of course, if a member has a good reason for wanting to delete some old posts, all he has to do is ask and we will do it for him.
