John Barry RIP
 

I know that this happened a few weeks ago (at the end of January) but I'd like to express my sadness at the death of Film Music Composer John Barry. For those of you that have not heard of him, you will almost certainly have heard his music.

Born Free, From Russia with Love, Diamonds are Forever, The Black Hole, Raise the Titanic, Dances with Wolves and of course the unforgettable Goldfinger are just some of the music that he wrote (and there are many many more).

For someone who has very happy memories of James Bond Films (I have the full collection until Pierce Brosnam left, and then it went downhill) his music was what made the films so much better. My first date with a girl I'd fancied like mad was to Goldfinger, something I'll never forget.

He lived life to the full and made (and spent) millions. He will be missed by many people, including me.:(
