I didn't say "comletely" full, the import of what I said is that they should not be half empty.
A good glass (note the spelling) of beer never starts off as half empty, it will acquire "half emptyness" quite quickly if it's good, but it should start off approaching the state of fullness rather than half emptyness.

Even a good cup of tea does not start off half empty.

We should not discuss to much obout that but I can not see any glas half empty. Plese think there is a large tent full of people, waiting for a beer. You can not compare the situation with a smal pub.

or even a large pub.

Those pulling the litres obviously have a very cavalier attitude - they're all different volumes. Look at the two still on the counter. Why shouldn't we take this seriously? its a serious subject.

Beer drinkers in England would never accept those glasses - they would think the pub/beerhall was taking the piss: the establishment would be reported to the "weights and measures" department. Its strange that the Germans, who are at least as authoritarian as us, accept such criminal behaviour, particularly since it is such a serious subject.

1. Nobody in Germany accepts a beer like it is served in England. 2. In every German pub or beer tent thy must use glasses with a mark on it. The glasses must be filled until this mark. If they do not and you protest at the responsible office or the office controls the beer tents and they see the glasses are not right filled, the pub or tent gets a punishment.

Yes the level is different. When you fill up the glas with beer until the mark and the rest is spume (I hope it is the right word for german SCHAUM), after a few seconds, you will have an other level in every glas you have filled. She carries 19 glasses. It is not possible to have the same level in every glas.
