I have used regular search engines to search with relevant key words in different languages. In my experience, northern european or nordic countries do not have many lift and carry fans. It seems that this is most popular in India, and the middle east.

smaller bodies mainly have shorter limbs, acting like shorter levers that use less energy to do the same amount of work

shorter people have a greater muscle cross section in relation to limb length and total body weight, the thicker the muscles, the stronger they are; length doesn't add strength, it adds more body weight that's more difficult, for yourself, to move and/or carry around the taller you are

being lighter also means that it's easier to lift you, obviously, and less of your total strength is dedicated to holding up your own body weight, proportionally freeing up more power to more easily lift and carry someone else

I was like that in my youth. I thought that it wasn't macho or manly for boys to be lifted and carried by girls because I identified with the "tough guys" in movies and TV shows, who were my role models. Ok i am not exactly from region where marriage ceremony requires lifting, though in my neighborhood it's more of a uncle carrying niece to wedding pedestal,now I have seen sometimes like just before wedding where niece playfully picked up the uncle where weight difference is substantial.
