As a teenager, my best friends sisters for sure used lifting as a means of bullying/asserting their physical superiority.
The older sister went on to be a full scholarship D1 college rower, she’s wildly strong. The younger sister was also big into gymnastics and very fit. I was always a very thin, and my buddies older sister would very often tease me about how light I was while picking me up. His younger sister did it less, but still wanted to try, and succeeded in lifting me. I was always insecure about my size, and dreaded them doing that to me |
